Entering treatment is a big step—and often one filled with uncertainty. At Three Rivers Indian Lodge, we believe that healing begins with clarity, safety, and connection. If you or someone you love is considering our 90-day residential treatment program for Native American men in Manteca, California, here’s a clear look at what daily life is like at our lodge.

Healing here is rooted in mind, body, and spirit, blending clinical therapy with traditional Indigenous practices, community living, and physical wellness.

Morning: Beginning the Day in Balance

Most mornings start early, with structure and intention.

  • Wake-up routine and breakfast

  • Morning check-in with staff

  • Optional prayer, smudge, or quiet reflection

  • Daily schedule review

For many clients, this is their first step toward rebuilding healthy rhythms and personal accountability.

Individual & Group Counseling

Each client participates in a combination of:

  • One-on-one counseling sessions

  • Group therapy

  • Anger management

  • Trauma support

  • AA / NA (12-Step participation)

Our counseling approach supports emotional wellness and mental clarity while honoring identity and cultural values.

Cultural & Spiritual Healing Practices

Culture is central to our treatment model. As appropriate and available, clients may participate in:

  • Sweat lodge ceremonies

  • Talking circles

  • Red Road Recovery

  • Traditional teachings from Native Elders

These practices help reconnect clients to identity, heritage, and spiritual grounding.

“Three Rivers helped me reconnect with my higher power through sweat lodge and counseling. I found balance in my mind, body, and spirit.”Mark Fountain, Former Client & Current Staff

Physical Wellness & Work-Based Strengthening

Physical health is an important part of healing. Clients take part in:

  • Exercise and nutrition sessions

  • Wood pile labor in preparation for ceremony and bonfires for morning and evenings and general property care (when appropriate)

  • Outdoor wellness activities

These activities help rebuild strength, confidence, and work ethic—while teaching the value of contribution and community.

Educational & Recovery Classes

Daily workshops may include:

  • Addiction education

  • Relapse prevention

  • Life skills development

  • Health and wellness sessions

  • Cultural teachings and traditions

Evening Reflection & Community

Evenings are focused on recovery, support, and peace.

  • Group or AA/NA meetings

  • Quiet time for reflection, letters, or journaling

  • Evening smudge or prayer (optional)

  • Lights out at a consistent time to promote healthy sleep

The Rhythm of a 90-Day Journey

This structured daily routine helps clients:

✔ Rebuild self-regulation and accountability

✔ Heal through culture, counseling, and community

✔ Strengthen body, mind, and spirit ✔ Prepare for successful transition into Sober Living (SLE) or independent living

After the 90 Days: What Comes Next

Upon completion, clients may transition into:

  • Sober Living Environment (Phase II SLE)

  • Continued counseling support

  • Employment readiness services

  • Opportunity to give back to the lodge

Many graduates continue to stay connected, some have even returned as staff and leaders.
